Greetings, fellow adventurers, and welcome to our website!! I know what you’re thinking, “This website is awesome, and their games look awesome, and they seem awesome, and –”

Okay… Maybe that’s not exactly what you were thinking. Let’s start again…
 

Welcome to the enigmatic realm of Arbitrary Absurdities! You might be wondering who we are and what we do. To answer your first question:

• We’re a husband-and-wife team that recently got the hare-brained idea that maybe we could make a fun hobby into even more fun by turning it into work! (It seemed like a good idea, but I guess only time will tell…)

 

As for the second question, it’s a substantially longer story… So I’ll just summarize:

• • When I was a kid, back in the 18th century (or so my wife tells me), my brother and I decided to make our own board game on scratch paper.
• • Then in the late 1930’s a particularly nasty brand of German politics led to an invasion of Poland, followed by the most devastating war in human history.
• • Fast forward a few more years and I fell in love with my wife at an aviation show commemorating that very war.
• • Wouldn’t you know it, turns out she likes board games too!
• • Then we played a lot of board games with our families.
• • Then we chatted about making our own board game.
• • Then we forgot about the idea for a while.
• • Then we chatted about it again.
• • Then we brainstormed.
• • Then we made a list of all our awesome board game ideas.
• • Then I put my graphic design skills to the test and we made our first board game.
• • Then we started our next game, made social media accounts, and put this website together.

 

At this point, we’re working hard to develop an eclectic lineup of new board games. Our first game, Battle Formation, is currently available for purchase on www.TheGameCrafter.com and our next game is in the works.
